WHAT PEOPLE SAY

"The book is good, where most other books overcrowd students with information, this book is presented in layman’s terms for students of all ages. Review the fundamentals in music while having a welcoming approach."

Luis Ramirez

"it's quite interesting and can definitely help students to understand how scales and key signatures are constructed and  how they're related in a coherent way. The tricks you used are smart and avoid the concept of just memorizing which is a good thing! I already use those tricks with my students and I can confirm their effectiveness!"

Maurice Ghanem

This is a really well thought out and nicely written guide for beginners to music theory and seasoned musicians alike. The connections, patterns, and memorization tricks help the reader understand and digest the scales better than just relying on circle of fifths/fourths. The explanation of why some scales such as A# do not exist (or are not used) is a neat touch. The relationship between parallel and relative majors/minors is also well explained.

I will be looking forward to a guide into more advanced topics such as chords in relation to the scales they’re in, basic chord progressions, dominants, secondary dominants, etc, if the author chooses to write it!
